OUR HEAD WINEMAKER, JEAN-BENOIT DESLAURIERS

Jean-Benoit joined our team in the spring of 2008 and today brings more than two decades of international winemaking experience to his role. From his early work at Casa Barranca, Santa Barbara County’s very first certified organic winery, to Vino Organico Emiliana om Chile - one of South America’s pioneering certified biodynamic producers - his career has been grounded in a continual curiosity and learning to advancing sustainability from within agricultural-based winery operations.

For more seven years, Jean-Benoit refined his sparkling wine craft at Benjamin Bridge under the mentorship of Champagne oenologist Raphaël Brisbois, the legendary former Chef de Cave of Piper-Heidsieck, until Raphael’s untimely passing in 2013. To this day, his influence and expertise can be tasted in every sparkling bottle we produce.

Today, Jean-Benoit leads the creation of trailblazing, forward-looking wines and non- alcoholic innovations at Benjamin Bridge, while remaining deeply focused on the ongoing evolution of wine - as both an expression of craft and a meaningful contributor to a more sustainable and thoughtful global wine culture.
